Dear Dr. Thomas Ein,
I do pray that this letter finds you and your family well.
You delivered my, Mrs. Anita Gill-Anderson, wonderful son on, 1987. Thank you.
My son is a fabulous God-fearing young man who is a credit to his family, community, and friends.
My pregnancy might stand out because it was difficult due to a tumor that was growing within my uterus throughout the pregnancy. Your care, knowledge, kindness, and wisdom gave me comfort during the difficult days of the pregnancy and delivery.
5 years later you successfully operated to remove my uterus in order to secure my life after I had suffered a major stoke that was caused by a protein S deficiency.
Twice during serious medical issues, you were the essential person who saved my life and the life of my son. Thank you.
I have thought often about writing you to let you know that as a woman, mother, and African-American person I appreciate all that you have done for my family and my well-being. My husband is also grateful to you for keeping him informed throughout all of my medical procedures.
I have recently become aware of the high maternal mortality rate in the USA for women of color and their children. I recognize that having you as my doctor was the blessing that stood up against negative outcomes and statistics.
As a doctor your care, knowledge, kindness, and wisdom presented themselves all together as HOPE. Hope, that my little family of 3 would have a healthy future. While also explaining, with compassion, the significant of my medical condition and treatment.
Thank you, God Bless,
Mrs. Anita Gill-Anderson MEd
